Unlike the Mk.I and Mk.II models, when upgraded, the Mk.III stacks several items each trip, which may cause jams if the input consists of more than one kind of item, like when feeding an assembling machine from a storage or when taking items out of production facilities that have several outputs. This can be avoided by setting a filter in the sorter.

To apply a filter, select an installed sorter, then click "Filter" on the control panel that appears. Choose which component you wish the Sorter to handle exclusively.

* It has advantages for Power Consumption and Game Performance to resort to lower sorter Tiers if only low throughput is required.
