Power storage facility. When the electricity of the power grid is surplus, it will automatically store the excess power. When the power supply is insufficient, it will automatically discharge to maintain the operation of the facilities.

Summary

Accumulators are structures that buffer excess power for use later. They are often seen paired with solar setups due to solar only being active during the day. This allows the factory to operate at night, running off of the stored power in the accumulators. In addition to buffering solar, they can be used to cover small spikes in power demand, such as recharging the Icarus Mech.

In combination with storing energy as a building, they can also act as batteries when held as items. You can then use energy exchangers to charge them and send them between planets with an Interstellar Logistics Station.
